Fertility Assessment

Fertility assessment NYC and BrooklynA fertility assessment is one way to learn more about your treatment options for infertility. Since the NYS Fertility Mandate became law, many people have expressed interest in fertility treatments such as IVF and egg freezing. The team at GENESIS Fertility New York is here to increase awareness about fertility treatment options and to help guide you through the entire process. There are four steps to a fertility assessment.

Step 1: Initial Appointment

The initial appointment with your fertility physician, or nurse practitioner, is a comprehensive evaluation of your history and medical records. It may last up to an hour. During this visit, you will have the opportunity to have your questions answered and to participate in developing a plan for further evaluation and/or treatment. To optimize your first appointment for fertility care, we recommend that you bring your partner with you. Plan to arrive a minimum of 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time in order to complete any necessary paperwork. Learn more about planning your first visit.

Step 2: Fertility Testing

Information gathered from fertility testing is very important to create a treatment plan. Your fertility assessment can include:

  • a sonogram / ultrasound of the ovaries.
  • blood testing:
    fertility panel and genetics
  • a partner semen analysis.

Step 3: Follow up appointment to review results

After you complete your initial appointment and fertility testing, you will have a follow-up appointment to review all of your results. Our doctors and staff aim to give you all the information you need to make informed decisions about your fertility plan.

Step 4: Identify a fertility plan

The next step is to identify a fertility plan. GENESIS offers comprehensive care, all under one roof, for couples and individuals with infertility. Treatment plans may range from simple medical therapy to surgery to advanced assisted reproductive technologies. The suggested treatment is always designed to meet the specific needs of each couple. Also, we will go over costs of treatment and payment options including insurance and financing.
