In a recent interview with Allure Magazine, Jennifer Aniston shared a bit about her deeply personal infertility journey; and how she wished someone had advised her to freeze her eggs.

“I was trying to get pregnant. It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road,” says Aniston, of a period several years ago.

I don’t follow celebrities. But this is Jennifer Aniston.

There’s something so comfortable and “girl next door” about her. She’s everyone’s Friend and makes people feel like they know her. So her admission about her infertility journey was not only heartbreaking, but for those in the infertility field, it was so appreciated.

No woman is obligated to share details about her fertility, whether she is a celebrity or not. However, one in eight individuals of reproductive age struggle to conceive. So when a celebrity shares their own journey, it spreads awareness; helping others know they are not alone.

“All the years and years and years of speculation… It was really hard. I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it. I would’ve given anything if someone had said to me, ‘Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.’ You just don’t think it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed.”

And there we have it. In a few short sentences, she highlighted not only infertility, but IVF and egg freezing too.
