Flu vaccination: a growing trend among pregnant women

The flu can cause serious illness in pregnant women. Therefore the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or CDC, recommends that all pregnant women get the flu shot to protect themselves and their baby. The flu shot is safe for pregnant women and their unborn child; and the side effects of the flu vaccine are mild when compared to the disease itself.
