Acupuncture is often administered to men and women with a variety of health conditions, including infertility. Very fine needles are inserted into specific points to promote balance and restore energy in the body.
For women undergoing treatment for infertility, acupuncture may reduce stress. It is also thought to aid in the circulation of energy to the uterus and to provide a sense of balance. Acupuncture may also be beneficial in promoting follicle production, and enhancing uterine blood flow. Thus improving uterine lining thickness and decreasing uterine contractions after embryo transfer.
For optimal results it is often recommended to start acupuncture three months before starting fertility treatment. However, if you’ve already started treatment, adding acupuncture can still be beneficial. In fact it may be used during many stages of the fertility treatment process, all the way through postnatal support.
GENESIS works closely with the experienced and licensed acupuncturists from Slope Wellness, Garden Acupuncture and the Yinova Center. Our patients can opt for treatments either onsite or offsite, for both pre and post embryo transfer. Each treatment lasts about one hour and will be scheduled in conjunction with your embryo transfer appointment.
